If you need to reset your taste buds, jumpstart on your weight loss, or need to get ready for a big event, this high fiber whole food cleanse will have hopping into those skinny jeans in no time.
You will get to enjoy a beautiful breakfast scramble, layered lunch parfait, delectable dinner salad, and satisfying snack smoothie.
I do not recommend exercising during the cleanse, since it does not provide enough calories.

In comparison to popular all liquid juice cleanses, a cleanse that is high in fiber is much easier to stick with as fiber keeps you feeling full and satisfied and never deprived.
Each food selected on for the Skinny Bunny cleanse is packed with fiber. Did you know that raspberries contain around 9 grams of fiber per cup?!
Fiber slows the rate at which sugar is absorbed into the bloodstream keeping your blood glucose levels from rising too fast. It also cleanses your colon, acting like a little scrub brush. This scrubbing effect helps clean out bacteria and other buildup in your intestines. Fiber also helps to keep bowel movements regular to avoid bloat.

All you need are these 5 versatile fiber packed foods and 5 days of commitment.

Raspberries
Spinach
Almonds & Almond Butter
Egg Whites
Plain Nonfat Greek Yogurt
Note: 1/5 package of Tofu can be substituted for eggs & yogurt for a vegan option.

Space meals 3-4 hours apart and drink 8-10 glasses of water and an optional 2 cups of green tea per day. No soda, coffee, or added sugar.

BREAKFAST:

¼ cup egg whites
1 cup spinach
1 cup raspberries
2 Tbsp sliced or slivered almonds
cinnamon

Scramble egg whites  with 1 spinach. Add any salt free seasonings such as black pepper, turmeric, or garlic to taste.
Place raspberries in a separate bowl and sprinkle with cinnamon and top with 1 Tbsp of almonds.

Tip: for breakfast I recommend using frozen chopped spinach.

LUNCH:
6oz plain nonfat Greek yogurt (single serve container)
1 cup raspberries
2 Tbsp sliced or slivered almonds
cinnamon

Layer the bottom of a jar or bowl with half of the Greek yogurt, then add half of the almonds, half of the raspberries, sprinkle with cinnamon, and repeat layers once more to create a parfait.

Tip: I like to make my lunch parfait in the morning inside of a glass jar using frozen raspberries. This way I can leave it in the fridge and the raspberries are defrosted just in time for lunch.

DINNER:
2 cups of fresh spinach
¼ cup egg whites
1 cup raspberries
2 Tbsp sliced or slivered almonds
1 Tbsp Red Wine Vinegar or Balsamic Vinegar
Splash of lemon juice
Pepper

In a large bowl, combine the fresh spinach, raspberries, and almonds. Toss with your choice of vinegar and a splash of lemon juice. Then scramble egg whites and add on top of the salad. Add pepper to taste.

SNACK/DESSERT:
6oz plain nonfat Greek yogurt
1 cup raspberries
1 Tbsp almond butter (unsalted and unsweetened)
½ tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp pure vanilla extract
3 Ice cubes
splash of water

Combine Greek yogurt, raspberries, almond butter, cinnamon, vanilla, and ice cubes in a blender. Add small amounts of water until preferred thickness is desired. Blend away and enjoy.

Tip: Use frozen raspberries

I saw your blog thru a friends facebook & have become so inspired. I’m going to be starting the cleanse on Saturday with my roommate. Here’s hoping for positive outcomes!

That is so great to hear! I am so happy that you found my blog. Let me know how the cleanse goes, and feel free to email me if you have any questions along the way :)

      • Louise on said:

I know this question was adressed to Catherine, but I may be able to help! I have dairy alergens, but am able to do goat’s milk yogurt. It tastes like a creamy, tart greek yogurt! If you are not doing animal products or soy, I’d recomend Coconut milk yogurt, Sodelicious is a good brand. Your local healthfood store should carry either :) . Both are delicious and nutritious! Good luck!

  3. Frani on said:

This sounds great, but I can’t do dairy. What would be a good substitute for the yogurt? I have tried the almond yogurt and didn’t like it at all, also not doing soy products. Any thoughts? Like your blog found it through pinterest :)

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Frani! I am so happy that you found my blog through Pinterest! I love hearing how people found it :)

It’s tough to get in protein when you cannot have dairy or soy in your diet. I usually suggest tofu and soy milk but that is not an option for you haha!

Have you tried coconut yogurt or coconut milk? I have not tried the cleanse with coconut yogurt/milk before and know that it is higher in fat than other yogurts so I am not quite sure if you would get the same results, but it is still plant-based and healthy! Make sure to buy unsweetened coconut milk because it can be added with sugar! Let me know how it goes :)

I started the Skinny Bunny Cleanse today and I am loving it!

The only thing is that there are soooo many raspberries. Anything that I can replace them with? If not, I’ll go 5 days of raspberries.

This blog is really great and motivating. I found it on pinterest and I’m so glad I did!

    • Catherine on said:

That’s so great to hear! Raspberries contain the most fiber among other berries, so they are great to keep things moving and cleanse your system. I have not tried the cleanse with any other berries because I am actually allergic to blueberries, strawberries, etc, but I think you could get similar results as long as you measure them out properly! Good luck and tell me how it goes! Health & Happiness xo

Ohhh my! This look great even though I am a REALLY picky eater….. well actually it’s mainly because I haven’t ever tried something so I say I don’t like it! I am definetly going to try this! :) Thank you for posting.

    • Catherine on said:

Definitely give it a try! Worst case, you won’t like it and don’t have to eat it every again! But on the other hand, you may find a new favorite!

    Hi Catharine,

I loved this idea, and I´m addicted to your blog, your history is amazing and shows us the kind of determined and strong person you are.
Well, I’m thinking very seriously about trying this cleanse for my wedding in 1 month and half, and I was wondering if is there a way to substitute the raspberry and the almond butter, they’re impossible to find here in Brazil, where I live.

Thank you so much in advance, and specially for the inspiration and tools to change things. :)
    Best wishes!

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Duda! Thank you so much, I am so happy that you love my blog!
I have not tried the cleanse with any other berries or nut butters, so I am not sure if you could get the same results.
You could try using strawberries and another unsalted unsweetened nut butter, or you could try making your own almond butter!
Let me know how it goes :) Health & Happiness xo

  9. Tessa on said:

I’m about to head to the store to pick up a couple of items I don’t have here, and I’ll be starting the cleanse in the morning. I’ll be substituting some of the almonds for flax seed (2g fiber per tablespoon) and I’ll be using some strawberries and blueberries for some of the raspberries (my freezer is full of them). I’ll let you know how it goes! :)

    Hi Catherine!

I just found your blog through pinterest, and I LOVE it!!! I started a vegetarian diet about a year ago and it went great at first but I’ve started to get into a rut of eating a lot of processed foods and a lot of white grains and just all around bad food and I can feel myself feeling worse and worse and gaining a lot of weight again. You are such an inspiration! I’m definitely going to try this cleanse to get things started again!
P.S. your story is amazing! It reminds me so much of me (except I didn’t quite meet my goal…or not yet anyway)

    • Catherine on said:

Thank you so much Meagan! Once you complete the cleanse and start eating more natural whole foods your palette will completely change and you will start craving healthy foods! Health & Happiness xo

    Hi Catherine!

I think I would like to try this cleanse as well! So just to confirm, you eat the same meals everyday for the five days?? Did you get sick of eating the same thing? That is the only thing I am nervous about and what I think would prevent me from completing the five days.

Just found your blog btw (pinterest) and love it!

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Jessica! I am so happy that you found my blog! Yes you eat the same 4 meals everyday for 5 days. If you get tempted to eat off of the cleanse, just remember it’s only 5 days of your life! You can do it! xo

  12. Kirsty on said:

How often do you do the cleanse?

    • Catherine on said:

I really only do it if I get off track and need a healthy reboot! Probably 2 times a year or after vacations :) We all know the vacation mode haha xo

  13. Alexia on said:

I found your blog through pinterest yesterday & I am loving it! I was reading the comments about this cleanse, and I was curious about everyone’s results? What sort of results do you typically see when you do it? I’m thinking about starting it ASAP. I just got back from Vegas and think I’d really benefit from this! xo

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Alexia! I am so happy that you found my blog! The first time I did the cleanse, I lost 7lbs (most of which was water weight and bloat). I did my cleanse after a vacation too haha

  14. Danielle on said:

I have an allergy to cinnamom. What would you recommend I substitute in its place?

    • Catherine on said:

Oh no! Allergies can be so challenging at times! I use cinnamon because it is an antioxidant, but you could use a mix of nutmeg, cloves, and ginger to create your own “pie spice!” Health & Happiness xo

Like so many others, I discovered your blog through pinterest, and I am so inspired by your story! I started the cleanse this morning, and have felt full all day. In fact, I wasn’t able to finish my lunch and am saving the rest for a mid-afternoon snack. Those berries are FILLING! I’ve also learned that I really don’t like plain Greek yogurt :-) I’m determined to stick with it for the full 5 days, though, and think it will be the perfect jump start to a more healthy diet. Other jump-starts (like 2 weeks with NO carbs) leave me cranky and have me battling major cravings, but the berries feel like a treat, so I think I’ll actually enjoy this. I also love that the meal prep is next to nothing – that’s my kind of meal! Thanks for the inspiration, Catherine!

    • Catherine on said:

That’s great Lynette! I’m so happy that you are happy with your first day of the cleanse! I cannot wait to hear your results after day 5! This cleanse is a great introduction into the rest of my meals because it uses the same structure (without fruit at lunch and dinner and more veggies) and the addition of whole-grains for each meal! Keep up the good work! xo

  19. Jenn on said:

This cleanse was amazing. I just finished yesterday and I’m down 5 pounds! I feel awesome and I even stop eating when I start to feel full (it’s still tough, but I like the not full feeling the cleanse showed me). I tweaked it a bit to fit my lifestyle: Raspberries were expensive so I supplemented with a ginormous container of TJ’s blueberries. NOM! I ate the salads at lunch (so work people didn’t look at me weird) and after two days I stopped eating the parfaits and ate clean “bunny” dinners with an added carb so that I could work out. Now that it’s over I’m still eating the same things and I feel a little lost on what to do now. Do you have any tips on what to do next? A new sample day’s food perhaps? I’m very scared of gaining the lost weight back and I still have about 35 to go. Thank you so much for the cleanse and making this blog. I love it!

    • Catherine on said:

That is EXCELLENT Jenn! I am so proud of you and so excited to hear that you lost 5lbs! Try to avoid added salt and any seasoning with salt to avoid water retention and bloating. I have a glimpse into one day of Rabbit Food eating in my Q&A http://rabbitfoodformybunnyteeth.com/rffmbt-qa/
The cleanse is based on the same structure of the Rabbit Food pyramid with the exception of no fruit at lunch and dinner + more veggies, and a whole grain serving with each meal! Spices are unlimited! :) Thank you so much for sharing your experience on the cleanse! Health & Happiness xo

Thank you so much for your blog, inspiration, and sharing all your great ideas!

I’m finishing Day 5 of you cleanse and am seeing great results. I’ve lost 7 lbs! I was curious though after day 5 did you gradually increase your calorie intake or just go back to your normal routine. I’m loving the way I feel with less weight and better sleep. I have a pretty clean diet but am nervous about gaining all the weight back. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks!

    • Catherine on said:

That’s amazing Becca! I am so glad that you had success with the 5 day cleanse! 7 lbs is AMAZING! Another reader shed 4 and had similar questions as you so this is the advice I shared with her :)

I really want to try the cleanse, is there a substitute for the cooked spinach? I’m not a fan of cooked but still like it raw.

    • Catherine on said:

You could eat it raw as a little salad on the side with your eggs. If you want to give cooked spinach another go, try using pepper, turmeric, some lemon, or other salt-free spices!

  23. Carrie on said:

I found your blog also through Pinterest and am addicted. I’m glad you posted this on FB b/c I’ve been looking for a jumpstart back into my diet. I’m fortunate b/c I work from home, so I can prepare all my meals during the week. I’m going to kickstart this on Monday. I like your idea of the frozen raspberries. Might be cheaper to go the frozen route. Would also help w/ smoothies too. Can’t wait to post my success!

I found your blog from a friend who started following it and I LOVE it! My dad figured out on his own a long time ago that his body ran better on “rabbit food” and its taken me a while (Im 30) to figure out that its true for all of us! Of course bad foods tempt you, but my body feels soo much better when I eat rabbit food!

Anyway, my daughter’s 1st birthday party is next weekend and I am 5 lbs away from my goal weight. I started eating better about 4 months ago then got into a great workout routine, and dropped all my baby weight but just have a little bit to get to my goal. I think this cleanse is exactly what I need to reset and get me there! Hitting up Costco this weekend and will let you know how it goes!

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Loralyn! Congratulations, you are almost to your goal! YOU CAN DO IT!!! I hope that this cleanse helps you shed the last few pounds for your daughter’s birthday! What an accomplishment! I cannot what to hear how it goes! xo

  25. Tammy on said:

Hi Catherine, I am so gonna start this on Monday, but one question, I cant’t eat eggs, is there a good substitue or should I do the cleanse with the yogurt being my protein. You are so beautiful and such an inspiration.
    Thanks!

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Tammy! You could use 1/5 package of tofu instead of eggs for a “tofu scramble” and in your dinner salad as well!

I really want to try this! Can I use normal egg w the yellow? I have a weird egg white phobia! haha

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Alicia! Yes you can definitely use a whole egg in place of the egg whites :) Some adults cannot have that much cholesterol per day but since this is only a 5 day cleanse, as long as you check with a doctor or are use dot having 2 eggs per day you should be fine :)

  28. shannon on said:

Do you think you can substitite brroccoli for the spinach? I seriously cnnot eat spinach raw or cooked without gagging, just don’t like it.

    • Catherine on said:

I have not tried this cleanse with anything besides the ingredients listed, but broccoli is still a really healthy option and I am sure you would still get great results with it!

I am excited about this cleanse. Just started this morning, and breakfast is in the bag! I’ve done juice cleanses and pre-packaged cleanses, and this sounds awesome because I won’t be STARVING! I might just make a spinach and egg white salad for breakfast though. Something about the texture of frozen or canned spinach has never settled well. Stoked!

  30. Anna on said:

Love your blog and congrats on the transformation you’ve made! Do you know roughly how many calories per day you consume with this cleanse?

    • Catherine on said:

Thank you Anna! I don’t count calories so unfortunately, I don’t have that info for you! Health & Happiness xo

    • Loralyn on said:

I looked up the calories for it out of curiosity and this cleanse is just under 900 calories a day.

      • Catherine on said:

Hi Loralyn! Again, I don’t count calories, and am not a physician, so if you think these meals are too small or low calorie, you could add 1 Tbsp more of almoner per meal plus 1 extra Tbsp of almond butter in the smoothie. Always do what you feel is right and check with your physician before making any changes to your diet! Health & Happiness xo

  31. Meaghan on said:

    Hello again Catherine!
I just wanted to give you an update on how the cleanse went. I am soooo pleased with the results! But let me say first how easy and delicious it was :-) I found myself looking forward to each meal because of how yummy each one was and It was so nice to not have to think about what I needed to make. So often I find myself aimlessly staring into the fridge when I’m hungry and I end up choosing something unhealthy. So I started planning out my meals a head of time so that I don’t have to run into that problem any more. I have learned so much from your blog and I have incorporated many of those things into my diet. From the 5 days on the cleanse I lost 8 pounds! And I have lost an additional 3 pounds in the 5 days following the cleanse! I feel so great! It’s funny how making small healthy choices lead to more healthy choices. I started paying more attention to my portions and trying to eat as little processed foods as possible. I can’t tell you what an inspiration this has been and how great it feels to get back on a healthy track again! Thank you so much :-)

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Meaghan! Ohhh my gosh, 8lbs from the cleanse PLUS an additional 3?! I am SO excited and happy for you! Thank you so much for sharing your cleanse experience for myself and others to read! Starting the cleanse tomorrow and very excited! What do you use to prepare the egg whites though? As in, do your scramble with a bit of olive oil?

    • Catherine on said:

I usually cook my eggs in a nonstick pan so all I need is a little bit of nonstick cooking spray. I would use a small spritz of olive oil spray vs actual olive oil!

Thanks I just found your blog and love it, I think you’re going to be so successful with this!
Any suggestions for the salad and smoothie for eating while at work? Would I make the eggs the night before and put on the salad cold the next day, also the smoothie for a snack will that be good the next day. I work Mon – Fri 7 – 3 so just wondering how to make this work? Thanks :)

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Kristen! You could hard boil eggs and keep them in the refrigerator for your salad! The smoothie should be ok in the fridge overnight! xo

My husband did the shopping for my cleanse, but he got flavored Greek yogurt instead of plain. That won’t work..will it?

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Sarah! Flavored yogurts tend to have a lot of added sugar which coms along with extra carbohydrates. I like to use plain because it is really low in sugar and carbs (only natural from the milk) but sometimes I’ll sweeten it with a natural 0 calorie sweetener like stevia. I’m not sure how the flavored yogurt will effect your results since I have only used plain Greek before!

      • Nathalie Guzman on said:

i love that use stevia as a sweetner.. i’ve heard really good comments about it..i just bought my 1st pack of stevia on the raw and hopegfully it satisfies my extremly sweet tooth

    Hi Catherine,

I’m starting the cleanse next week, and I have yet one more question: do you know how much of each of the 5 foods I need to get? Maybe just the amount I’ll use for each day, or if you have the info on the 5 days would be awesome!
    Thanks a lot! :)

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Duda! For the full 5 days, this is what you will need total, for each food:

Almonds: 15 Tbsp (2 6oz packages) plus 1 jar of almond butter
Egg Whites: 5 cups liquid egg whites total: 3 16oz containers of liquid egg whites
Greek Yogurt: 60oz total: 10 6oz single serve containers or 2 32oz tubs
Spinach: 15 cups total which you could divide between fresh and frozen (check the package to see how many cups there are)
Raspberries: 20 cups total, again you can split between fresh and frozen (check the package to see how many cups there are)

      I hope this helps! xo

  41. Do you think using coconut water in place of the ice cubes/splash of water would be okay?

    • Catherine on said:

I have no tried using coconut water, sometimes I just blend the smoothie without any ice or water and it’s really thick like ice cream!

  42. Jessica on said:

well, here goes, i am starting the cleanse tomorrow…it’s only 5 days, its only 5 days….little anxious because it’s the first step to start losing 100 lbs….wish me luck and perseverance….lol!

    • Catherine on said:

I can’t wait to hear about your success, Jessica! If you feel that you are extremely hungry during the cleanse, you could add an additional 1 Tbsp of almonds to each meal. Make sure to check with a physician to ensure you are getting enough calories for your specific body needs :) xo

  43. Danielle on said:

    Hi Catherine!
My hubby and I started the cleanse today! Believe me it is going to be more difficult for me seeing I am the picky eater! I am super excited though to get my body back to a healthy point rather than being embarrassed to wear certain clothes or having an all out fight with the mirror! Lol I am ready to take a healthier journey, and wanted to thank you for your blog and story! It has inspired me!!

  44. Carrie on said:

I had a dumb question to ask now that I’m starting this. With the breakfast spinach you recommend frozen spinach. 1 cup cooked from frozen spinach is a LOT of spinach! Do you usually measure 1 cup raw spinach, then cook it? I think the output would be a lot different.
Also, I’m having trouble w/ the sourness of the plain yogurt. Could we do vanilla greek w/ the same effect? Not sure how much more sugar vanilla has.
    Going good so far though!

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Carrie! If you use fresh spinach, make sure to really pack it in the measuring cup! Extra spinach never hurt anyone! I usually use 1 cup of frozen spinach for breakfast because I love it!

I would not recommend using a flavored Greek yogurt due to the unnecessary amount of added sugars, but you could try sweetening it with a zero calorie sweetener (whatever your preference, I love stevia) and a dash of pure vanilla extract!

  45. Whitney on said:

    Hi Catherine :)

I’m starting the cleanse in a few days-but wanted to ask a q. For after that…I need to purge my pantry (crackers, pasta, cookies…you get the idea-it’s scary in there!!) and was wondering if you could send me some sort of grocery essentials list (or of you had one on the blog that I’m missing??)? I’m going shopping, and pretty much planning to stick to you recipes, but short of going through every recipe, I don’t really know what I’ll need. I know there needs to be spinach and unsalaried almond butter-but what’d be some other great staples? Any sort of list would be a MAJOR help!

Thanks again for your inspiration!! :)

Rawr. Does no one else have issues with it!? Hah. I read through all the comments, and I feel like I’m the only one really craving a cheeseburger or my leftover lomein in the fridge! I am on day one and have finished breakfast and lunch. I am not “hungry”. But I really want “food”. I’ve never done a cleanse before but I know that a lot of this is mind over matter. I want to make it through this cleanse, I just don’t know if I want a cheeseburger worse…

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Kellie! Any changes in your diet can be really challenging at first. Your body is so used to the way you usually eat that your body is probably going through a withdrawal type of stage. If your stomach is growling and you are truly hungry, snack on sone raspberries or even some sugar snap peas. Try to step away from the kitchen and breathe, go for a walk, and focus on how great your body physically feels when it is given such nutrient rich whole foods! You can do it! xo

You are NOT the only one. I was craving in-n-out last night but resisted. I was doing the cleanse with a friend who decided not to continue so it was extra hard. This morning I woke up, headache free, not hungry and ready to take on the day! I’m drinking a LOT of water. I’m also drinking iced green tea after lunch to give me more taste besides spinach and raspberries.
I am about 5 feet from my kitchen all day and it’s taking SO much willpower not to go in there and snag a piece of chocolate. Good luck!

    Hey Catherine,

So my roomie and I just started the cleanse to jump start our diet and get us back to healthier eating. I’m just wondering if you have any tips on preparing the egg whites, yours look so good in the photos! I don’t want to use a lot of oil in the pan because I feel thats kinda defeating the purpose. I used some spray olive oil this morning but it still sticks a bit to the pan. Any tips for fluffier egg whites??

    Thanks!
    -Candace

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Candace! I use liquid egg whites and olive oil spray to keep them from sticking. You could use a tbsp/dash of nonfat milk and whisk it in with the eggs to see if that helps add some “fluff” :) xo

After a year of huge life changes, (my oldest son moved across the country to attend the university of his dreams and I took a giant leap in my teaching career all while finally being happily single), I’m ready to transform MYSELF. Your blog and I have been new best friends since last week when I saw your adorable picture on Pinterest. Today I came across your five day cleanse and it is exactly what I need right now. I’m not going to think about the people, places, and outfits I want to be healthier for. Step 1: Grocery store…after that, one day at a time. Thanks for sharing your story and taking the time to help and inspire others.

    • Catherine on said:

Aww that’s great Salena! I am so happy that you found my blog and I am so excited for you to try some yummy healthy recipes! You will feel fantastic from eating clean ‘n’ green! Thank you for reading! Health & Happiness xo

Thank you! I used the liquid egg whites for dinner on my salad and it was much easier to scramble. Just finished off day one with the smoothie and it was delish! I was a little hungry throughout the day, but not too bad. I had another question. I love the blueberry pomegranate iced green tea from Trader Joes. It has no calories or added sugars, would this be appropriate for the cups of green tea?

    Thanks!
    -Candace

    • Catherine on said:

Oh good, I’m glad you got your egg whites to turn out a little better :) Any un-carbonated 0 calorie, beverage with 0 sugar and 0 carbs is fine! You could have any tea that you would like, but green has tons of health benefits making it a great choice :)

  52. Pamela on said:

Do you have a list of seasonings that are not salt based?

Hi Pamela! That is a great question! I don’t have a list but Mrs. Dash makes a great line of salt-free seasonings!

I’ve just started day 1, its going well besides the american measurements are very different to the european one, so I think I ended up overeating on spinach for breakfast, and there was hardly any egg. Is there any other measurements you know of?? Oh also I was using frozen spinach so I think that increased when cooked too.

Are there any alternatives to using almonds? Would Pine Nuts be ok?

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Allison! I have only done the cleanse with almonds because they are a very nutritious nut with fiber and protein, but there are some readers that are experimenting with other nuts as well. As long as their nutrition stats are around the same as almonds (fat, fiber, carb) you should do just fine :) Just make sure to measure :) xo

    Catherine,

At the end of 5 days, I lost a total of 6 lbs! Losing 4lbs on the first day was a huge motivator. My birthday was midweek, so I allowed myself 1 small slice of cake. That probably halted my weight loss, but it was so worth it!
Someone commented above about the frozen spinach being too much. I have to agree: although the package said it was 1 cup, after cooking, it was huge!
I never would have thought I would love a salad with only 1T of dressing, but I did. That is something I can stick with even if I can’t stick to the Bunny Pyramid.
Thank you, you are so inspirational!

Hi Catherine, I absolutely love your blog and have found it really inspiring and motivational :)

I am going to start the cleanse on Sunday or Monday coming and cannot wait. It’s just what I have been looking for! I didn’t want to do one of those detox programs that involve fasting or simply having juices and nothing else as they can seem pretty drastic so this one looks ideal.

I promise to keep you posted on the progress and results next week :)

Hiya, a friend of mine has pointed me in the direction of your blog and i LOVE it! It’s just wheat i have been looking for.

Im a newbie veggie and have fallen into the ever too easy trap of eating pretty rubbish foods just because they say ‘suitable for vegetarians’ on the label.

Im starting the skinny bunny cleanse on monday and i can not wait! my body needs a good old shake up and i really need to remove all the awful things inside me to make me happy from the inside out.
Im currently 172lb!!!! :-( im hoping this will be the start of a new me. Im more focused on how healthy i feel than my weight and i know once i start to treat my body right it in turn will treat me to a slinnky new look and a shopping trip for new clothes a fair few sizes smaller lol. I’ll keep you posted on my journey but for now i want to say a huge thank you to you and wish you happiness and health all the way from the UK x x x

Hi Emma! I am so happy that a friend showed you my blog! It is so easy to eat junk or processes foods and still be a vegetarian! Sometimes it just sounds healthier than it is haha but I’m glad you are making the change to add more veggies to your veggie lifestyle, you will love how you feel! I cannot wait to hear about your cleanse results! Health & Happiness xo

I just finished the cleanse and let me tell you I feel fantastic! I’m down 6lbs! I started at 140 so I was surprised that I lost that much. Goes to show you how much junk I eat. I’m most proud of myself with my strong willpower. The only “cheat” I had was licking a fork that had melted cheese on it when I was serving dinner to my kid. My husband brought home fast food w/ fries twice and I didn’t have one!! I might have sneaked a sniff once or twice. LOL.
The other weird thing, my breath is a lot better. Not that it was horrid, but I just don’t have a variation of taste in my mouth. HAHA. My energy level is more even keel throughout the day rather than highs and lows. I love it!
I finished yesterday and started breakfast with a suggestion from Toast Tuesday. I am treating myself to lunch but am keeping to the rabbit food pyramid. I’m so excited about a lifestyle change. I don’t intend to go vegetarian, but do intend on being more healthy. Thanks so much for this!

I am so proud of you Carrie!!! Just bought all my ingredients today and will be starting the cleanse on Tuesday! I had to make a few substitutions, but I think my version will still be successful! Hoping to break past my plateau with this one! I’ve got about 10-15 pounds left to lose and I can’t seem to get any headway, so I’m hoping this will be a good jumpstart!

I will report back with the results in a week! :)

Hi Erin! I have not tried the cleanse with anything else except the listed ingredients. If you try adding chicken, make sure that it is very very low in sodium and no added salt or it may defeat the purpose of the cleanse! xo

    Hey Catherine!

I just wanted to let you know that I did this cleanse and got on the scale this morning and lost 6.2lbs! It wasn’t easy, but the results made me happy. I lost a lot of water weight that I was holding onto and that works for me! I started today off right by going with your food pyramid! You are such an inspiration. You should travel and do seminars. Seriously. Also, you should make a cookbook with all your recipes because they are amazing. Not only would you rake in dough, but I would be so happy to have a little book with all your treats! :) Just bunny food for thought!

    • Catherine on said:

Congratulations Karen! 6.2lbs is outstanding!!! Thank you so much for the compliments, I hope that my blog will turn into a cookbook one day :) Health & Happiness xo

I would buy your cookbook, too. I would probably go to a seminar of yours, as well. And I will definitely buy your t-shirt when it becomes available (please tell me I didn’t miss out on that!). Can you tell I’m a fan? While I didn’t have the will-power to stick with all 5 days of the cleanse, I have totally transformed my eating habits because of your fabulous blog. The pounds are slowly (and easily) coming off, and I feel so much better, both mentally and physically, since following the rabbit food pyramid!

Come monday I’m starting this cleanse! Afther 2 kids I’fe gained 55 lbs. In the last couple of months I’ve been following the 17 day diet, and lost 44 lbs. But I have been haveing trouble sticking with it lately…Till I found your blog, and the bunnyfood pyramid! I’ve always been a little bit on the heavy side of live, so I still have to lose 22 lbs to get to a healthy weight.
I know I can do it with all the great recipes on your blog and the great motivation you provide!
I have a few questions though: In Holland (were I’m from) we don’t have all white eggwhite for sale. Can I use the whites of normal eggs? And the Greek yoghurt, does it have to be Greek, or will any fatfree yoghurt do?
Thank you so much for this great blog!

    xxx Judith

    • Catherine on said:

Wow Judith 44lbs that is amazing! I am so proud of you! I hope that the cleanse can help you get motivated again :) You could use the whites of 2-3 regular eggs instead of liquid egg whites! I have not tried the cleanse with regular nonfat yogurt (only Greek because it has no added sugar, and very low in carbohydrates) but as long as it is nonfat, and low in sugar and carbs, I think it will be ok! Try comparing labels of different plain yogurt brands! Health & Happiness xo

So today is the last day of doing the cleanse and I did everything exactly the same except switch out blueberries and raspberries in some meals so I didn’t get bored. This actually did nothing for me weight wise, maybe lost a pound or two but i will say that I feel great! I didn’t realize how much my body craved water and most of the time I mistaked it for hunger which caused excessive snacking . My energy levels have been at their highest and eating 3 meals a day has helped with that (I used to be a breakfast skipper), so thanks for posting this awesome cleanse it really has helped!

    • Catherine on said:

Hi April! Thank you so much for filling me in on your results! I am so happy to hear how wonderful you feel and hear that you were able to establish cravings for thirst vs. hunger! That is often very easy to mistake! I am so proud of you for completing the cleanse :) Health & Happiness xo

I’ve been trying to do healthy and clean eating for the whole summer so far, but of course I’ve had many digressions. If I do this cleanse, will I still lose some weight even if I’m not doing it right after a vacation or after a binge of some sort? Also, is there anything you recommend adding so that it’s ok to work out while doing the cleanse? I don’t think I can go five days without any working out.

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Melissa! Cleanses aren’t for everyone, but they can be really great to help you get on track, loose bloating/water weight, and ease digestive issues. I would only recommend walking while doing this cleanse because your body needs more carbohydrates when you are exercising. If you add whole grains to these recipes it would no longer be the same cleanse, but it would still be a great healthy guideline to get on track! Health & Happiness xo

    Good morning Catherine,
I am too excited. It is day five of the cleanse for me and I am really proud of myself for making it to the end. I have not eaten this many raspberries, almonds, or this much spinach and yogurt in my life lol, but it felt good eating foods with great benefits. As I sit here this morning sipping from my cup of green tea, I am writing out my meal plan for the following month with the help of the four food groups listed on the rabbit food pyramid. I am looking forward to thinking, eating, and nibbling like a rabbit :) I am going to weigh myself first thing tomorrow morning and post my results. I am hoping to have lost at least 7lbs just like you did after your cleanse, but if not I will keep a positive attitude and not let it discourage me because by doing this cleanse, I have already conquered self and as a result, I won’t let anything discourage me or stand in my way. I will continue eating clean and start exercising tomorrow until I master my goal of healthy eating and reach my desired weight loss goal(I HAVE 40 POUNDS TO LOSE (NOW))!! I can’t wait until tomorrow morning. Take care and have a great day :)

    Hey Catherine,

I really want to try the cleanse, I love all the foods listed and eat them anyways (just also lots of unhealthy stuff with it)! My question is about the no caffeine. I am a huge coffee drinker and get bad headaches if I don’t have caffeine. How important is it to the cleanse and what is the benefit of the no coffee? I drink only one cup a day and I drink it black so I am wondering if that would have much affect on the cleanse.

    Thanks!

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Alex! The absence of coffee doesn’t have a HUGE affect on the cleanse results so if you must have coffee I would have 1 cup per day with skim milk and natural sweetener like Stevia. The problem with coffee during the cleanse is all of the extras that come along with it!

Hi Catherine! For one, you are one of the most amazing people I’ve come across here on the web. I’d been looking to become more of a plant based pescetarian (have been for 1.5 years, can’t give up blue crab) and your blog was EXACTLY what I needed. Since reading your blog, I’ve become a Chobunny, put kale in my smoothies (with Chobani), and become SO much more open to delicious healthy food.

I had lost 20 pounds before I went to college due to disordered eating, only to gain most of it back at the end of the year. I’m planning on following the rabbit pyramid after I finish my cleanse to continue down my new healthy journey and get back to my desirable weight. I’ve lost 7 pounds since being home already and I’m so glad that you helped me along this journey through your blog. I’ll be starting my cleanse on August 5th and I cannot wait to share my results. Thank you so much for changing my life and opening my mind to new fruits and vegetables. You’re an inspiration. :)

  79. Hi Catherne! I just finished the last day of the cleanse and i loved it! Im not overweight or anything (beginning weight 114lbs at 5’4) and even though that doesn’t sound very high, I just wanted to lose some extra bloat after a family holiday. I found the cleanse very easy to do. The same meals every day actually made it easy not to think about food rather than making it boring! I’ve lost 3lbs and I feel great and people have commented on how refreshed I look. I lost about 20lbs two years ago and just as you did, developed a fear of food. Even though I’ve overcome that, I still would feel uneasy to be eating carbs and stuff. Your website has really, really helped! I’ve been looking at comments here pretty much everyday for inspiration! Also I put 5 post its up in my room saying 5 days!, 4days!, etc. and ripped one off each day. Now I’m about to take the last one down! :D thank you so much!

Hey! I started the cleanse yesterday and I was wondering if I would get the same results if I used flavored Greek yogurt?

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Bobi Jo! I have not tried this cleanse with flavored Greek yogurt. Flavored Greek yogurts tends to have a lot of added sugar which comes along with extra carbohydrates, so I am not sure how this would affect your results for the cleanse. You can flavor your Greek yogurt yourself with some vanilla and natural zero calorie sweetener like Stevia is desired! xo

    Hellooooo Catherine,

As I sit here today, sipping from my cup of green tea, I feel so excited to say that I woke up this morning and the first thing that I did was step on the scale (after I said a little prayer of course, lol), Catherine, I am seven pounds lighter. I lost exactly 7 pounds. OMG, I am soooooo soooooo happy for me right now. I went from 184.6 to 177.6 (33 more pounds to go, I can do this). To look at the scale this morning and see that I am getting closer to my weight loss goal is a blessing. A true blessing for me, I’m so excited and there is no turning back this time. I can’t stop smiling. I would have checked in earlier, but I have been on the phone all day telling everyone I know about this amazing five day cleanse.

Love you for this cleanse Catherine and THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU so much. It was so simply and is so healthy and I’m so glad that I defeated myself and did it. I’m on my way to a healthier and better me :)

Today, for breakfast and lunch I had the following:

BREAKFAST- 1 Apple (PRODUCE), 1 Slice of Toasted Whole Grain Bread (WHOLE GRAIN), 1 Cup of Soy Milk (PROTEIN) and 1 Tbsp. Almond Butter (PLANT BASED FAT)

LUNCH- Peas and Carrots (PRODUCE), ½ Cup Cooked Whole Grain Couscous (WHOLE GRAIN), 3oz Chicken Breast (PROTEIN), and 1 Tbsp. Olive Oil (PLANT BASED FAT)

For dinner and snack today I will have:

DINNER- Broccoli and Asparagus (PRODUCE), ½ Cup Cooked Brown Rice (WHOLE GRAIN), 3oz Salmon (PROTEIN), and 1 Tbsp. Olive Oil (PLANT BASED FAT)

SNACK-1banana (PRODUCE), ¼ cups rolled oats + ½ cup water (WHOLE GRAIN), 1 Cup Soy Milk (PROTEIN), and 1Tbsp. Almond Butter (PLANT BASED FAT).

In addition to my new breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack ideas, I will continue to drink eight 8oz cups of water, two 8oz cups of green tea, and exercise for at least 30 minutes to an hour daily.

Oh and no salt, no salt, no salt :) I didn’t need it during the five day cleanse and I don’t need it now, yay!

I hope my check-ins have inspired or will inspire someone who is struggling with their weight to give the five day cleanse a try and begin eating healthy. I promise you will not be disappointed, but over joyed and excited about the fact that you made a commitment to do something to improve your health and lose some weight(you will be excited that you finally got that scale to budge, I know I was), but most importantly you will be excited that you stuck with it. God bless everyone. Much love and many blessing to everyone on their weight loss journey!!! I wish you all the very best health and weight loss results ever!!

I can’t stand raw spinach so I was hoping to replace that with a mix of Arugula and Romaine & use the Arugula & Spinach for breakfast. Hope it works the same, I’ll let you know. I haven’t seen a comment asking about spinach so I thought I would post.

    Wish me luck!

Hi Emily! I think that if you keeps your greens to the same measurements you should be ok! Let me know how it goes! xo

Hi Catherine! I hope this doesn’t sound rude because I LOVE your blog and think you are adorbs, but I was just wondering, what is this difference between your cleanse and Cynthia Sass’s 5 day “Sass Yourself Slim” 5 Day Fast Forward Diet? Thanks!

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Vanessa! Not rude at all! I use less nuts and nut butter when I do the cleanse and have a couple of different seasoning suggestions, but that is why I referenced her in this post :) She has such amazing healthy eating tips, I love reading her articles in Shape Magazine!

Hi there! I recently came across your blog and think it’s so cute and helpful. Seeing the post this morning on your cleanse I have decided to give it a try! The last couple months I’ve gained a few pounds and have been so unhappy with my body. I keep trying to eat healthy (which I do most of the time) but just can’t seem to lose these few extra pounds. So I’m going to committ myself to the next 5 days as a way to jump-start a clean eating routine and hopefully feel better about myself afterwards. Thanks for your posts you are very inspiring. :)

Hi Catherine! Just like many others, I found your blog through Pinterest. I am going to buy the ingredients today but was wondering if the cleanse duration can be extended from 5 days to 7 days? As you already know, you are absolutely amazing and tour blog is like a drug, super addicting!

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Sandra! I have not done the cleanse longer than 5 days, and would not recommend the cleanse for longer than 5 days. After the 5 days you should be adding whole grains back into your diet :)

Hey Catherine! I just came across your blog last Saturday. I had actually pinned your site on my “What What gotta work out that butt butt” board on my Pinterest like 2 or 3 weeks ago, but of course just thought about clicking on over instead of actually doing it.

Yesterday I started going through all of the posts like a crazy person, because the fact that you are a local ( well almost, i reside in the lovely O.C.) make me super excited, and that you had lost so much weight was inspiring. ( Because GIRL beleive me I have my share to lose)Any who, I found this cleanse during my raid of your blog and am excited to start Monday! I am hoping it gives me the jump start I need to start shedding those pounds!

So even though it makes me sad to say good bye to my carne asada fries, I know if is for the best.

So ya that was a whole lot of ramble just to pretty much say thanks for the bunny pyramid and I am excited to start the cleanse!

Hi, I looked through the comments and didn’t see an answer to this, so I thought I’d ask. Is there a substitute you could reccommend for yogurt? I don’t like yogurt at all (I’ve tried several times!). Thank you! I just love your blog!

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Rachel! You could use 1 cup of nonfat cow’s milk or soy milk for the smoothie! I have not found a substitute for the parfait, but you could blend your lunch parfait into a smoothie with soy or cow’s milk!

  91. Kristine on said:

I absolutely love this blog! I love your recipes and your story is so inspiring. After having my ‘last meal’ tonight (haha!) I’ve decided that tomorrow is the day to start my cleanse. I’m a dog walker so I’m already pretty active so I’m gonna cut out the gym time and extra cardio that I usually do. Hopefully I don’t get too cranky without all the regular comfort foods I’m used to. It’s a habit that definitely needs to be broken. I gotta just keep telling myself it’s only 5 days! Fingers crossed this works!

    • Catherine on said:

Thank you so much Kristine! When you start the cleanse, try thinking about how amazing you feel after putting healthy whole foods in your body instead of what foods you miss! You will feel so energized and healthy :) xo

  92. Melinda on said:

Im so excited to try this! I just got all my stuff, except I’m trying walnuts instead of almonds because I’m allergic. :(

    • Catherine on said:

That’s great Melinda! I have not tried the cleanse with a different type of nut, but I’m sure Walnuts will work great and they are very nutritious too! You could use 2 tbsp of walnuts in the smoothie in place of nut butter! xo

  93. Jamie on said:

I did the 5 day cleanse last week and lost 6lbs. I felt great and my bloat was gone! My sister and friend did it as well and both had great success. I stuck to the exact plan the first 2days but then added blue berries in because I already had them and didn’t want them to go to waste. I also ate about two cups of spinach for breakfast instead of one and added it into my smoothie. This cleanse was a great way for me to get my diet back on track. I’m looking forward to trying more of your recipes. Thanks!

  94. Levina on said:

I just finished day one of this and I already feel like giving up!! How do I last four days? :(

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Levina! It is common to want to give up. This is most likely a big change from your usual diet, and change can be uncomfortable. I love this quote: “If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you.” Think about how you feel, are you thirsty, are you antsy, are you bored? Try making a list of things to do when one of these feelings comes on. Start doing different things on the list until that feeling goes away, like reading, going for a walk, or drawing… anything besides eating unless you are truly hungry. You can do it! After 5 days you will feel so refreshed! But if you don’t think the cleanse is for you, don’t beat yourself up over it, focus on the GOOD choices that you have made that day instead of dwelling on breaking the cleanse! Health & Happiness xo

  95. Melissa on said:

    Hi Catherine,
I want to start the cleanse but I’m scared to give up coffee! Really no coffee for 5 days!? Ahhhh

    • Catherine on said:

Coffee is not suggested mostly because of the sugary added ingredients that often come along with it! If you must have your coffee, try keeping your java to 1 cup per day with some nonfat milk and natural zero calorie sweeter such as Stevia! xo

  96. Melissa on said:

Oh ok good.i drink my coffee w almond milk and no sweeteners! Can u believe that! I gave up adding them a long time ago and don’t miss it at all.

    • Catherine on said:

That is seriously amazing, Melissa! I am still hooked on sweetener, but thankfully have made the move from Splenda to Stevia! I’m sure your almond milk is unsweetened, but just to clarify, make sure to use 1 cup maximum of unsweetened almond milk :)

Day 1 – just finished my raspberries for breakfast. I decided to eat them as a snack because I eat breakfast and lunch so far apart.

Can you recommend a substitute for the almond butter? Or can I omit it? I can’t seem to find it anywhere!

    • Catherine on said:

You could make your own almond butter in a high powered blender or food processor (there are instructions and videos on how to make it online), or you could blend 2 Tbsp of almonds into your smoothie! xo

  100. Chrissy on said:

    Hi Catherine.
Just a quick question, I bought everything to get started on the cleanse as of this morning, just a bit worried on calories. Any advice on eating below 1200, not sure since it is only five days if it will have a negative affect on the metabolism?

Thanks for all the wonderful information.
    Chrissy

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Chrissy! I do not base my meals on calories, but on balanced portions. If you think this is too few calories for your specific needs you could add an extra 1Tbsp of almond per meal and an extra 1 Tbsp of almond butter to the smoothie! Since I am not a doctor, nutritionist, or dietician, I am unsure if this would have a negative effect on your metabolism within 5 days. I always recommend speaking with your doctor before making any changes to your diet! Health & Happiness xo

  101. Sarah on said:

End of day 1 and I feel pretty good. I didn’t really like the almond butter in the smoothie but it was tolerable. I wonder if u could replace it with something else. Excited for the rest of the week! Oh also….I find 1/4 cup egg whites is nothing :( is it terrible to up it to 1/2?

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Sarah! I have not tried teh cleanse with different amounts of egg whites, but 1/2 cup should be ok! Health & Happiness xo

Hello! I just want to say your blog is really fantastic and you are gorgeous. This “skinny bunny cleanse” however is promoting a starvation diet. This is about 800 calories from what I’ve heard and that is starvation. I’m sure that was not your intention, but regardless you are promoting an extremely unhealthy way of eating. Yes, I understand this is for only a week, but at the same time you should not be advising people to eat this way especially because you have no qualifications. I really hope I am not coming off as rude or offensive, but this is NOT an ok diet to be promoting especially because you have no idea who could be reading this and yes all these people are having success with this “Cleanse” dropping unhealthy amounts of weight in a week when in reality this few calories regardless of duration is extremely harmful to ones health, not to mention your readers could very well be impressionable young girls and I don’t think this something that a “healthy living blogger” should be promoting. Again I really hope you do not take offense because I truly enjoy your blog!

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Anonymous! I do not count calories and base meals on balanced portions and serving sizes. I always recommend that readers check with a physician before making any changes to their diet to ensure that they are fulfilling the specific needs for their body. My blog is based on my own experience and I in no way promote an unhealthy way of eating. This cleanse has a suggested structure of meals, but can be tailored for individual needs. If this cleanse does not provide enough calories, fat, carbohydrates, protein, etc for your needs, you can easily add in foods to make it work for you. Since this cleanse does not contain added salt, the weight that is lost is mainly water weight/bloat. I really appreciate all of my readers and their opinions and wanted to tank you for reading my blog!

    • Elizabeth on said:

Re Anonymous: I don’t feel that the cleanse was a starvation diet. Catherine’s diet plan was tailored for her. Since I estimated a weigh about 100lbs more than her, I knew that amount of food wouldn’t be enough for me. I tried to follow it as closely as possible, but allowed myself to have healthy snacks as needed (raw almonds, small fruit). It’s all about common sense! Listen to what your body tells you (your body – not that little voice whispering, “pizza! pizza!”)

      • Catherine on said:

Thanks Elizabeth! I am so happy you were able to tailor the cleanse to work perfectly for you! You got it, it’s all about healthy choices and listening to your body! Health & Happiness xo

  103. This cleanse is AMAZING! I am only on day 3 and already went from 132 to 127! Before doing this cleanse I was on a weight loss plateau and nothing was working. I feel great and the food is delicious. I have tried other cleanses (BluePrint Cleanse) and those just put my body into starvation mode and I didn’t have BM for 2 weeks! Thanks so much! Can’t wait to see the results after 5 days

Hi everyone! I was a bit concerned as the calories seemed low. And I normally don’t count calories but food groups. Either way my body know it needs protein so instead of 1/4 of egg whites I am having 1/2. At the start of day 3 I am down 4lbs! I never feel hungry either. And I have no headaches or stomach aches in the morning. I did have a small coffee today…it was a mid week necessity. Thank you Catherine and to everyone else doing the cleanse good luck and keep on going!

I made it!! Final weight loss was 5 lbs. I’m so proud of myself for actually sticking with it. There were some rough patches where I wanted to give in so bad but I dug deep and resisted. I found that while I missed my normal diet at times, I didn’t miss the lack of energy. I actually felt more energized and just felt so good about myself overall. While I’m kinda glad it’s ‘over’, I am adopting a healthier diet from now on. I really enjoyed preparing my own meals for the past several days so I’m going to be experimenting with some of your other recipes. Thanks so much for this plan and for the constant motivation you give to everyone -you’re awesome! :)

I had just gotten on the scale and realized that i was gaining it all back when i went on pinterest and found your blog. I feel completly remotivated. Will start this tommorow

Ever since then, I have shared the word with everyone I know to get to your site and check it out! Today is the first day of the cleanse for a friend and myself and I am looking forward to the next 4 days! The recipes are easy and delicious and it makes it easy to eat well! No more looking in the cabinets and fridge wondering what to make and picking something quick and unhealthy! This proves you can eat well with easy recipes and a plan! I’ve already started menu planning for after my Skinny Bunny Cleanse! Great job on this site! I will keep spreading the word to head over and visit you!

I also found your blog through Pinterest and love it! Truly one of the best blogs out there :) I have a severe..SEVERE disliking for nuts. I do not and will not eat almonds, cashews, walnuts, peanuts, pecans…etc. The only nuts I’ll eat are sunflower seeds and pistachios. I noticed a lot of your recipes call for using different nuts/nut butters. Do you have any tips or recommendations for how I can get in those plant based fats without having to force myself to eat things I dislike? haha.

    • Catherine on said:

For the cleanse you can substitute the nuts for unsalted sunflower seeds, or pumpkin seeds! As long as they have similar nutritional stats, you should be just fine :) In other recipes you can always sub nuts for avocado, chia seeds (or any type of seeds), olive oil, coconut, etc. I have a list of other plant based fat ideas/options on the Rabbit Food Pyramid page! health & Happiness xo

Hey Catherine, I’m on day three of the cleanse, and whilst I’m finding the amounts and ingredients perfect I’m after getting bored! Do you think it would make any difference to change how the ingredients are prepared? Like for example… for dinner could I bake half of the spinach into(salt and oil free!) spinach crisps and mix them in the salad? xx

    • Catherine on said:

Day 3, GO ELEANOR! You could deifnitely make the spinach into salt free and oil free crisps for your salad! That sounds amazing I would love to hear how to make them :) A few readers used a mix of blueberries and strawberries and ended the cleanse with fabulous results! I have not tried the cleanse with anything other than what is listed, but if you get really really bored with the raspberries, I have heard success stories with different berries :)

It’s really a cool and useful piece of info. I’m happy that you shared this useful info with us. Please keep us up to date like this. Thank you for sharing.

  114. I was happy to find this through Pinterest. I’ve been on vacation at my parents’ house for the last month, and have been eating/drinking so unhealthily. Add to that not being able to run for several weeks (tweaked my knee after running a half marathon), and I think I’ve put on about five pounds.

I can’t wait to get home next week and try this. Hopefully it will reset my body and motivate me to make healthier choices once it’s over. It will be interesting trying to explain eating the same dinner five days in a row to my husband and my four kids though. LOL. I might have to change things up a little so they won’t notice. :)

    • Catherine on said:

I can’t stop laughing about your last sentence haha I can just imagine your kids response to your spinach, raspberry, almond, and egg salad 5 days in a row :)
I’m sorry to hear about your knee, that’s no fun! On the other hand, congratulations on completing a half marathon, thats amazing! This cleanse will be a great reset to get you back to your feel good weight and healthy eating routine :) I’ll let you know if I get any other ideas for dinners! You could try blending the raspberries with a tbsp of water (to get the blender moving) and use it as a dressing? That might look a little different haha Let me know how it goes! xo

  115. Could I use a differnet kind of nonfat yogurt. I really dislike the Greek yogurt???

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Rose! Although other types of yogurt are still fat free and mainly low in calories, they tend to be rather high in carbohydrates, and contain tons of added sugars, which is why I use Greek yogurt. I have not tried the cleanse with any other types of yogurt so I’m not sure if it would give the same results. Try adding a packet of natural 0 calorie sweetener like Stevia, and some vanilla extract! If you do use a different yogurt, let me know how it goes! Health & Happiness xo

Hi! I am so excited to start this cleanse.
I looked through sooooo many of the comments and was hoping to find my answer so I wouldnt have to bug you :) no luck so I was wondering since I prefer to be vegan as much as possible (on special occasions I will do vegetarian) I do not like eggs at all, white part the yolks nothing, unless its baked into something. :)
So I know you mentioned using Tofu but my issue is I get really bad gas (TMI) with soy products :( kinda lame especially since Im vegan.
How do feel about using tempeh instead of egg whites?

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Evie! I haven’t tried the cleanse with tempeh but I think that a tempeh scramble and tempeh topped on the dinner salad would be fantastic! I’m not sure how much I would use though! I definitely need to look into that! xo

      • Evie Jensen on said:

Hey thanks for the reply, to clarify Im sensitive to the overly processed Soy products and the way tempeh is made and that its fermented doesnt bother me :)
So yeah Im thinking ill just do a small suggested serving. I will let ya know when its over I start this coming week gotta hit up the farmers market this weekend mmmm Raspberries yummy Im excited to start the cleanse.
Also your amazing love the site and all that your doing.

        • Catherine on said:

No worries, a lot of my readers as well as myself have food allergies and sensitivities! Keep me updates on the cleanse! xo

    • I know this was a while ago, but for anyone who’s reading it having the same concern, I would do black beans! They are loaded with antioxidants and fiber, and serve the same protein purpose as eggwhites! Any beans would do, but black beans are highest in antioxidants.

  117. Hello Catherine!
I am looking to start the cleanse after a 3 day vacation where I was eating very unhealthy, and need to get back on track with my weight loss goals. I found your cleanse, and everything sounds good, but I absolutely cannot eat egg whites by themselves, and I hate tofu. Could I try the cleanse with a whole egg instead?

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Claire! You could definitely substitute the egg whites for 1 whole egg! Whole eggs do contain cholesterol, so I would recommend checking with your doctor before making any changes to your diet :)

  118. WOW I have just read everyone of these posts. I am so excited to find this cleanse. I quit smoking 5 years ago and at the same time at foot surgery on both feet..needless to say I couldnt exercise much and gained 40 pounds. It has been a nightmare to yoyo on diets. I have tried it all. I finally just quit looking at diets and watched my calories and added in cardio exercise 4 times a week. I have lost 8 pounds but it has taken almost a month and a half. I feel like I am never going to get there. Reading your blog and this cleanse has inspired me to eat even healthier. I cant wait to try it and I too will post my success. Oh my word what a sweet person you are. reading your comments to your readers…you are so encouraging. :) Thanks

    • Catherine on said:

That’s fantastic lisa! YOU WILL GET THERE! Focus on how far you have come, not how far you have to go! Take everything day by day and make healthy choices! Every little thing adds up. I am so proud of you! Health & Happiness xo

  119. WOW. I started this cleanse yesterday and this morning YIPPEE I was one pound down :) I never got hungry eating the food. The only thing I think I did wrong was use a tablespoon of olive oil yesterday morning instead of the spray. I went back and read the blog I saw the post on not using it ..I still lost a pound so I am thrilled. I am a scale junkie and I have tried to quit weighing everyday but I am bunny hopping on there everyday of these five days hee hee. Thanks Catherine.

  120. Oh my word. The scale is moving along with everything else hee hee. I am so excited ..this is day 4 and I have lost 4 pounds. It took me a month to lose 5 pounds and this has really given me the boost I need. I am trying to read your post about food and see what everyone else is eating when the come off of this. My last day of course is tommorrow. I really dont want to count calories anymore…I just want to eat healthy and not beat myself up if I have some salsa for goodness sakes. Today is a good day. One thing I have learned from this journey so far is that I am not going to let a scale define who I am anymore… Love yourself and know you are beautiful no matter your size.

  121. Paulie on said:

Hey Catherine ! Was wondering can a guy follow this cleanse program too?

    • Catherine on said:

Hi Paulie! Yes, anyone can do this cleanse! It is filled with fiber, protein, and healthy fats that are great for everyone! Men tend to burn calories at a much higher rate than women, so I would add 1 Tbsp more of almonds per meal and an additional Tbsp of almond butter to the smoothie! Let me know how it goes!

  122. Hi Catherine!
I just got all the things for the cleanse and starting tomorrow, so I can be ready for school! I was wondering if I could add Chia Seeds to the Smoothie?

    • Catherine on said:

You are going to be in tip top shape before starting school! I would choose either the Almond butter or chia seeds for the smoothie. If you want to try using both, maybe use 1 Tbsp almond butter and 1/2 chia seeds! Let me know how it goes! xo

  123. Claudia on said:

Hello Catherine! Congrats on you great blog.

I do have a question: I cannot, under any circumstances, eat egg whites or full eggs. And I don’t know where to buy tempeh in my country… Which other substitute do you recommend?

    Thank you! :)

  124. Claudia on said:

    Hello, it’s me again.

Sorry I bothered you with my stupid question above, you already gave substitutes for egg whites. *duh* I will try the cleanse with tofu and low fat cottage cheese.
I started today and I like it so far! Thanks!

  125. Hey Catherine.
I did the 5 day cleanse and lost 6 pounds. Yea :0 so excited. I ended it Tuesday. I went from 173 to 167..I havent seen the 160′s in a couple of years. I am terrified of gaining it back. I swear I ate an apple yesterday and a salad for lunch and I felt like I was over doing it. My stomach felt so full and I wasnt used to that fullness. I am having a hard time trying to figure out what to eat now. I like the simple meal plans from the cleanse I know exactly what I am eating. I have looked through some of the recipes. Wondering if you have a sample meal plan. I am a little freaked out about not counting calories. A new way of eating but I really feel good.

  126. Ashley on said:

    Hi Catherine,

I tried starting this cleanse earlier in the week and after my first meal I was feeling sick. I’m not sure if it was because the ingedients I used weren’t fresh or if it was my previous eating habbits. Is it necessary to already have a “clean” diet before starting this cleanse? I’m really eager to try this but the healthy way.

  127. Hey Catherine, my attempt at the 5 day cleanse was unsuccessful, lol. I did the cleanse for two days and a half, and I went off. During the two days, I lost almost an inch off my waist, and 1.5 lbs. During the cleanse, I realized that I needed to change my eating habits, and I am now following your food pyramid. Keep adding more delicious recipes!

  128. Summer on said:

I think I realized why this cleanse is only recommended for 5 days. Raspberries are pretty expensive! I’m on day 1 and I decided to make all 5 of the lunch parfaits in jars so I can grab them on the go and I ran out of raspberries after that! I originally bought 2 of the Driscoll’s packages and one bag of frozen, and I had to run out and grab two more packages and another bag of frozen. It’s okay though, and I’m excited to continue.

  129. Aislinn on said:

Hi Catherine! Firstly, I love your blog and think you are a great inspiration! I will be starting the cleanse on Monday and I just wanted to get your advice on something. I went to buy ingredients for the cleanse and could only find full fat greek yoghurt or non fat natural yoghurt. Do you know what is the difference between greek and natural yoghurt and would they have an effect on my cleanse? Thank you in advance for your time, I will let you know how the cleanse goes!

  130. Hi Catherine! I started this cleanse today, and I’m super excited to see the results. I just spent the last 20 minutes reading through all the other comments here and it looks like this will be a success.
I struggled with an eating disorder for 12 years, then after getting better from it I went to the opposite extreme. I was so afraid of becoming obsessed again with food and weight that I completely made myself not “care” what I ate and then ended up gaining 30 pounds. Now I just want to be healthy and I’m excited to have this cleanse kick start my initiative. Thanks for being so open and honest about your story, it’s helped me to be open about mine.

Secondly, by following your pyramid this summer I was able to figure out what has been bothering my stomach all these years. I have narrowed it down the culprit to gluten! Because I was eating more pure, whole wheat things (bread, pasta, etc) my stomach grew worse and worse. Finally I went to the doctor and after a number of appointments and narrowing down any bigger health issues, my doctor and I have come to the conclusion that gluten just doesn’t like me.
I decided to start my own blog about going gluten free and continuing to stay healthy while at college. It’s a fledgling of a blog, but I just wanted to let you know that one of my first posts is about this cleanse! I did this cleanse to rid myself of gluten in a sense, and ended up losing 6 pounds in the process!
Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I gave you a huge shout out in my post and linked it back to you.
I will continue to to be a fan, and you have truly inspired me!
    Kaitlyn :)

  132. Looking forward to trying this cleanse – with the amount of raspberries used each meal, is there any reason to be concerned with the amount of sugar intake?

I am kind of curious what other people spent in order to buy supplies for the cleanse..
I am deffinitly wanting to lose weight but I also just want to be healthier. I am hoping this cleanse gets me feeling better so then the next week when I start eating like a bunny I will want to work out!
Also does anyone have any good beginner workouts?

    THanks! I am soo excited

  136. Hi! I did the cleanse last month and dropped like 7lb. I will do it again starting today. What do you recomend to eat after this cleanse? I’ve gained a few pounds :-(

  137. Hi Catherine! I’m so glad I found your site AND this cleanse!!!
I started working out and eating clean 4 weeks ago, and went from 175 to 166 lbs. I lost site of my goals and before I knew it, I weighed in yesterday at 174!! Unbelievable how fast weight goes ON the body, yet so hard to lose!

I’m in need of a serious jump start back to my clean eating days, and this was my answer. Thank you for offering this to us, I look forward to starting tomorrow!!!

  138. These recipes are great! I just completed my first day of the cleanse… and two of the guys I live with decided to make bacon at dinnertime. The house is filled with the aroma of delicious turkey bacon. The raspberry smoothie was the perfect treat for dessert so I didn’t feel the need to cheat – save for that extra tablespoon of almond slices – and it’s so delicious I shared some with my boyfriend, who loved it, too.

Summer road trips always makes me think I can have “just one [giant] bag of chips for the trip,” which are always just a junk-filled waste that leave me feeling icky afterwards. I had foot injuries almost all summer, so once I could walk, exercise beyond walking was really out of the question, and I let myself get lazy about food prep (I don’t know how you do it!). So, it was high time for a refresher in eating well. It’s nice to have a plan for clean eating that uses few ingredients, so it doesn’t hog space in our already crowded fridge. I also love that the simple recipes help lazy me get some good meals together, especially since some things can be prepared ahead of time. Thanks!

Also – about travel: Do you have any advice for good foods for trips? I’ll be camping next weekend, and nice things like carrot sticks only last so long in a warm car for the trip there. I’m not giving up s’mores altogether, but eating less of those and more good food would be awesome! Can you suggest any good foods that pack well?

This looks incredible!! Just what I’ve been looking for :) before I start, I was wondering if the almond products could be swapped out in exchange for raw unsalted pepitas (pumpkin seeds) and raw pumpkin seed butter (same as the almond butter, raw pepitas are the only ingredient with no sugar, salt or oils)or sunflower seeds products. I ask because I’m allergic to nuts, unfortunately, but still hoping to experience the benefits of this cleanse!

Hi, we don’t have All Whites in Australia where I live, is it just the same as the whites from a egg shell?

Looove your blog! Day 2 on the cleanse :) love it so far! only thing.. is it ok to eat between meals i get a little hungry and can’t wait 3/4 hrs in between meals. ( some fruit?)

  142. For the snack, can you make it as just a yogurt with berries and almond butter instead of a smoothie and disregard the ice and water?

I am so happy I found your blog, and at just the right time! I gained some weight last semester; the cleanse seems like a great way to start this semester off right and get back on track! I am almost done with the second day and I feel wonderful. I was even able to do Zumba today because the breakfast is so surprisingly filling! Thanks girl :)

I’m finishing up with day 4 of the cleanse and I feel great. Some of the food, the egg whites in particular (I’ve never been a fan of eggs), have been hard for me to have so often. But when I stepped on the scale this morning, I was down 6 pounds!! I was so excited that it made the eggs worth it. Thanks for your amazing blog which I now read religiously! It’s really helping me lose the freshman 15 :)

  145. Is there any reason you use almond butter instead of another nut butter in this cleanse?

I was just wondering how soon do start seeing results? I know it’s different for everyone but do you have an average idea? Btw I love your blog!!

    • Hi Vanessa. I have just started Day 3 of the cleanse. After weighing myself this morning, I am down 4 lbs! I have to admit that I cheated yesterday and had a Starburst… =( But now that I have seen results I have renewed determination not to cheat again.

This cleanse is definitely not for the faint of heart, but it is SO much easier than any other cleanse I’ve seen. You DO stay full for the most part… My tummy has been rumbling a bit at night, but I think that is to be expected with this kind of thing.

  147. Hi Catherine!
I just found your blog and I am SO inspired by it. Your honesty is so refreshing, and I just want to encourage you by saying that you look GREAT! Thank you for this cleanse idea as well…I recently tried a juice cleanse and bombed on it haha. I’m looking forward to trying this!!

    Hi Catherine,

I’ve been following you a while and I wanted to let you know that you’re such an inspiration. I really appreciate your positive attitude toward everything and your comment about being ‘real’ and not hiding things from your readers. I believe it’s important to address the ‘ugly’ side of having negative body image and admitting that it’s something that you still struggle with even after all you’re amazing progress. You go, bunny Mama! I was just curious about an alternative ‘Skinny Bunny Cleanse’ for people who workout pretty consistently. Do you have any advice? Thanks so much. xoxo

  149. Hi, Catherine! Glad you had such a good time in SF. Wanted you to know that I am starting the cleanse tomorrow morning and have recruited about 10 other people to join me! We’re all going to keep each other motivated, post our progress, etc. I’ll let you know how everything goes!! Thanks for all you do.
    Cheers,
    ~Lisa~

Hey, I’m 16 and I need to loose a few inches to fit into my prom dress, I ordered it online and can’t exchange it. I was wondering if it was okay to do this at my age, and if it was okay to do it for more than 5 days, I was going to do it monday – friday then on weekends, my own food so my body doesn’t lose weight and then gain it all back again later.

    Hi,

I came across this cleanse through a friend of mine who was in love with this clean bc it got her starting on loosing weight and starting to live a healthy life. When she told me about it and told me about her results I was immediately excited about it and hopped onto your site. I started your clean today, and im not going to lie, going from eating a lot of carbs to eating healthy is very tough. Especially when you live at home and have access to all sorts of junk food. I would say I did 70% of what the clean allows me to have and are not disappointed in myself. I am very happy that I have started this cleanse and will continue until I am able to do the clean 5 days straight as directed.

I will keep you posted, and I love all the positive comments on your site.

I am getting married in August and I would love to loose about 20 pounds. If and when I succeed with this goal, I don’t know how I would Thank you!

    Thanks for a new beginning
    Shanu

    Hi Catherine!
I much prefer working out than dieting, and I’m a big protein buff. I was wondering if I could eat a HEALTHY dinner with some meat, because I want to go jogging.
    Thanks!
