I just found the best dressing at Wold Foods! You guys know that I am obsessed with Chef AJ’s Hail to the Kale Salad. Well, I found a quick fix for the dressing if you don’t have the ingredients on hand or are short on time. Whole Foods is now making a Health Starts Here: Sesame Ginger Dressing with no oil added. I swear this dressing was created by Chef AJ herself. It is almost spot on to her original recipe and I am soooo excited!

Quick Kale Salad
The Sesame Ginger Dressing is gluten-free and has excellent nutrition stats coming in at only 70 calories, 5g fat, 4g carbs, 2g sugar, and 2g protein per serving (2 tablespoons).
Plus the ingredient list isn’t too bad either:  sesame tahini , pear juice , almonds, tamari, orange juice, rice wine vinegar, ginger puree, chives, and xanthan gum.

To cut down prep time even more, grab a bag of Harvest Sensations pre-washed Organic Kale! There is no excuse for not eating a healthy lunch because this is the absolute easiest thing to prepare. Massage the kale with Sesame Ginger Dressing and store in an airtight container. I love kale salads after they have marinated overnight in the fridge. It really let’s the flavor absorb and makes the kale less tough.

Eating this as I type!

Omg! That’s my FAVORITE salad mix! It was the first form of kale I ever ate, and have been hooked ever since! I love that it comes with shredded carrots and cabbage. It inspired me to add them (shredded carrots from Tradeer Joes and a super easy hand chopped red cabbage) to all my salads! Can’t wait to try this dressing :9

I’ve tried to recreate the salad dressing at whole foods for the sesame ginger dressing…this is the best I’ve come up with so far, still tweaking it:

    1/2 Cup water
4 Tablespoons of sesame seeds (or less)
2 Tbs frozen Apple juice concentrate (honey also might work)
1/2 Cup roasted almonds (roasted tamari almonds work)
2 Tbs Tamari Soy Sauce (don’t use regular salt, use tamari, better flavor)
1 Tbs. frozen Orange Juice Concentrate (adds nice flavor)
1 or 1.5 Tbs Rice wine vinegar
1 small piece of ginger (about 1 teaspoon)
    1 Tbs chives

Thank you for attempting to replicate the Whole Foods recipe! I love their salad dressing and I don’t know what I will do if Whole Foods ever stops making yet! I have a dressing that I make that has similar ingredients but it tastes much different and I still love the Whole Foods sesame ginger best. If you have come up with a more recent update that tastes even more like the whole foods recipe please post it. In the mean time I’ll try this one and keep
      working on perfecting it. Thanks

I love this dressing and purchased it at Whole Foods in Boulder, CO. Unfortunately, they no longer stock this item and I am trying to find out how to get it. Have they discontinued it. Really want to get my hand on it again. Thanks.
