Konichiwa bunnies!
I am finally back from Japan! I cannot believe I’m still awake right now because I am still on Japan time, which means it’s about noon on Thursday! I’ve been traveling by planes, trains, and automobiles since yesterday at 10am, and am desperately trying to stay awake until a decent hour to get back to CA time! In the meantime, I have been missing froyo like crazy!

I have the biggest sweet tooth. No, actually I think that my mom wins for biggest sweet tooth! We loveee our sweet treats! Yogurt (yogi as I say) and ice cream are two of my favorite desserts, but even the fat-free and lactose-free, versions can be loaded with added sugars.

Now, my favorite nighttime treat is the potassium rich, Banana Nicecream!
One ingredient. One perfect dessert.

Banana Nicecream
Serves 1

1 frozen banana – yup, that’s it!

Peel, chop, and freeze banana. After banana is frozen, throw it in a food processor and blend until smooth and fluffy. Enjoy with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top if desired!
Note: I always make sure that I have frozen bananas on hand for when an ice cream craving strikes!

There is an awesome ice cream maker called Yonanas that turns frozen bananas into a perfectly creamy soft serve! Any Yonanas fans out there?! Definitely worth the investment if you are a fan of Banana Nicecream! I need one pronto!

I cannot wait to share some recipes that I learned during a cooking class while I was in Japan! So manny goodies for you guys!

Awww thank you! Yonanas is the greatest invention, I love the texture that it makes. It’s identical to soft serve!

I love this stuff. It is just like ice cream. To mix it up I like to add unsweetened coco and/or unsweetened peanut butter.

This stuff makes me very happy! I make it aaalllll the time. And of course I add some PB2 to give it that peenie-butter goodness w/o all the fat. *le sigh*

I also like it with some cinnamon sprinkled in it.

    LOVE X infinity!

I love banana nicecream! I always use up my frozen bananas for my smoothies though, Catch 22! I can’t have froyo from the shops because I’m allergic to whey and corn syrup. So I make my own with frozen greek yogurt cubes(the whey is strained in greek yogurt) I sweeten it with stevia or agave, freeze into ice cube trays, then blend with a little almond milk! My favorite add in is fresh raspberries, I stir that in after blending and re freeze.

It’s the real deal, I swear! Love your blog, I’m trying the quinoa flax crackers tomorrow :]

I am a huge ice cream lover and I finally found how to satisfy my sweet tooth with a healthy alternative. My favorite ice cream flavor is B&J’s chunky monkey and I have found a great substitute. I froze the bananas and added some walnuts and a few semi-sweet chocolate chips and it taste just like B&J’s, except without the added sugar and calories. I found your website on pinterest and I love it, you have great ideas for a healthy living, without having to give up delicious food.

    Hiya!
I only recently discovered your blog, but really enjoy it, your fun outlook on life and great recipes! And, of course, your love of Yonanas also makes us kindred spirits – I’m addicted to it, especially mixing it with other frozen fruits! And I love your idea of adding toppings to the plain Yonanas rather than mixing through, that’s a great way of doing it!
Although I know you’re allergic to berries, check out my blog post for other suggestions if you haven’t already thought of them – http://growcookfreeze.wordpress.com/2014/01/20/frozen-delights/

    From Laura 🙂
